Where to take mom for Mother's Day: Part two

Afternoon tea at the Halekulani

If you can't get reservations to the restaurants in our first Mother's Day roundup, try these places to treat mom this weekend.

Mother's Day specials for brunch at Du Vin include lobster egg Benedict, strawberry and banana stuffed French toast with a caramelized peach butter, and pan-seared scallop salad with goat cheese and a lilikoi vinaigrette. For dinner, get a classic chateaubriand or grilled sea bass with baby squash and lilikoi creme fraiche. 545-1115

On Mother's Day (and all Sundays), afternoon tea at the Halekulani is first-come, first-served at the Veranda. So if you get there early (before 3 p.m.), you might be able to snag a table for you and mom. If you want to celebrate Mother's Day during the week, Halekulani just started offering afternoon tea at Orchids, which offers a Diamond Head and ocean view. There are still some reservations available for afternoon tea Monday through Saturday. Starts at $32, 923-2311

Among the Mother's Day dinner specials at Il Lupino: a lobster salad with peaches, grilled lamb chops, osso buco, and for dessert, cannoli. Also, mom gets to take home a 12-ounce jar of housemade pomodoro sauce. 922-3400

If you want to spend the day in Kakaako, there are still seats available at Taste's brunch, hosted by Lee Anne Wong and her mom, and The Pig and the Lady just announced its Mother's Day movie and dinner pairing. The movie: Chocolat. Chocolate is weaved throughout the six courses, such as an escargot Bourguignon with dark chocolate; duck with white asparagus, rose water, wood sorrel and white chocolate; prawn with tomato and cocoa powder; as well as two chocolate desserts. $79, May 11 and 12, thepigandthelady.com/thepigandthelady/2013/5/7/mothersdaypopup

Special at Tiki's for Mother's Day: a brunch buffet, featuring snow crab legs, red velvet waffles, an omelet station, prime rib carved to order and a pancake and French toast bar. And if the red velvet waffles, pancakes and French toast don't satisfy your sweet tooth, don't worry, there are more desserts. $32, reservations at tikisgrill.com/mothers-day-in-waikiki

Shokudo offers a lunch and dinner buffet for the occasion. Lunch focuses on seafood, with sushi, dynamite mussels, shrimp tempura, king crab legs and salmon misoyaki. Some of the non-seafood items include chicken teriyaki and mochi cheese gratin. For dinner, Shokudo adds on a prime rib carving station. And for both buffets, there's all you can eat honey toast. $34.95 lunch/$39.95 dinner, 941-3701

Take mom to a three-course prix fixe at Wolfgang's Steakhouse, which starts with a choice of crab cake, Caesar salad or chopped salad. Entree is a petite filet with garlic mashed potatoes, and dessert a NY cheesecake. $59.95, 922-3600
