Open house helper

Every week, it's quite a task to cull available open houses, map them out, and prioritize which ones to see. As someone who uses their smart phone for everything on the go, it was a godsend to find out about Prudential Locations' application for iPhones.

The free application is essentially to help you search for properties for sale as you would on your desktop, but in a easy-to-read index. It includes all available properties from the Hawaii MLS, not just Prudential Locations' listings.

I just used the app yesterday to search for available open houses.

It's nice to be able to search for available homes on a map, so I can plan my day to hit the areas that are most active. If I'm strapped for time and can only look at homes near where I am at the moment, (right) the app maps that out for me, too.

I chose this one at Honolulu Park Place, since I was in the area. Note how it pulls up photos and details of the property so I can decide if it's worth my while.

It also gives you the phone number of the listing agent, so you can instantly connect with them if you get lost or want to talk about the property. (In my case, it's usually because I get lost.)

This application is easy to use and very straightforward. Want to play around with it? Just download it from iTunes and start. It's free!
