Convenient location in Moiliili

It may not be known as the coolest neighborhood in town, but Moiliili should not be overlooked when shopping for a condo. More properties in the nabe have been catching my eye of late — I recently blogged about a three-level penthouse that had a definite “wow” factor.

Only a block away from that penthouse, this just-listed — and much more affordable — one-bedroom condo couldn’t be more conveniently located to shopping, restaurants and schools. The address, 2100 Date Street, scores an 85 out of 100 on Walk Score, deeming it “very walkable.” But if you’re not up for racking up steps on your pedometer, it’s less than 10 minutes by car to get downtown and shorter if you’re headed to the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

The 504-square-foot condo is well kept and features a decent-sized lanai off the living room with space for two chairs and a bistro table. The bedroom is adjacent to the lanai on one side allowing more light into the room.

The kitchen and bathroom could withstand a facelift, but that’s preferential rather than necessary. Also included are an in-unit washer/dryer and a dishwasher.

The building, built in 1980, is well maintained and its residents enjoy a pool, a recreation room and a barbecue area.

One covered parking stall is included in the price, and spots are available for guests.

You can check it out at a broker’s open house (it’s open to the public) on Wednesday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. It will also be open on Sunday, Aug. 26, from 2 to 5 p.m. Click here for details.
