This Week’s Open House Pick: Keapuka in Kaneohe

Keapuka is a popular Kaneohe subdivision with easy access to the H-3, Pali and the amenities of Kaneohe town. Many of the homes in this quiet, family-friendly neighborhood have desirable views of the Koolau Mountains and Kaneohe. This particular home is situated at the end of a cul-de-sac, so you won't be bothered by traffic, and, according to listing agent Carlin Yamashita, two of the three neighbors are owner-occupants.

The home has three bedrooms and two baths for a total of 1,352 square feet. The great room has high ceilings and wonderful natural light, and the open kitchen, which was renovated in 2010, is a functional space with plenty of storage and workspace. The 24-year-old residence has ceramic tile and laminate wood flooring throughout, and clean bathrooms. Perhaps the home's best feature is the deck overlooking the lush, tropical backyard and the quiet, little stream that runs through the almost-16,000-sq.-ft. lot. "The property is a hidden gem," says Yamashita. "It's like a little forest or mini estate back there."

Money talk: The home is listed at $599,000 fee simple.
Open house: Sun., Feb. 27, 1 to 5 p.m.
Contact: Carlin Yamashita, Prudential Locations. 392-3244, carlin@carlinyamashita.com.
