Open house pick of the week: Aiea

At first glance, this newish listing in Aiea wouldn’t normally be my first choice for an open house highlight. It’s older, it’s got three bedrooms to just one bathroom, and that one bathroom is straight out of Smurfville. But trust me, it’s going to be a hotspot this weekend.

The home has been on the market for 11 days, and already has multiple offers—I had to cut my conversation with realtor Denise Miyachi short because she’s still getting calls on it. (Click here for details.)

“There are other similar listings nearby in the same price range, but this home is in very good condition,” she explains. “It’s never been updated, but the family—the original owners—took good care of it.”

The address is on Moanalua Road, but the home itself is down a private driveway, so it’s off the main drag. It’s a spacious 1,376 square feet on a level, 6,094-square-foot lot featuring a covered patio and a vegetable garden in front. There’s also a little bit of greenery to soften the concrete surroundings, but other than that, it’s a very low-maintenance yard.

There’s also ample parking on the property, enough to fit about six cars, so you can easily entertain guests.

The home will be open this Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. Happy house hunting!
