Remodeled townhouse in Waipahu

If you’re considering property in Waipahu, you may want to take a look at this newly listed, affordable two-bedroom townhouse in the Royal Kunia neighborhood.

When I spoke with realtor Thar Covington of Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties, she pointed out the location of the gated community of Kulana Knolls 2 is within walking distance to shopping and restaurants. But this ground-floor corner unit, which was remodeled last year from floor to ceiling, is very peaceful and you can’t hear any traffic.

In the kitchen, the owners upgraded with stainless-steel appliances, granite countertops and new cabinetry. New ceiling fans and attractive laminate flooring were installed in the living space, with tile in the kitchen and bathroom.

Just off the kitchen is a large closet that houses a full-size washer and dryer, along with a handy chest freezer for those Costco-sized packages of frozen vegetables and meats.

The vanity in the bathroom also has a granite counter, along with plenty of drawers for stowing supplies and a cabinet for linens.

When the heat cranks up outside, you can sleep comfortably at night – there are A/C units in both bedrooms.

There’s a covered lanai and a small gated yard with room for a barbecue grill. For the keiki, right across from the unit is a playground.

Fuzz factor: You can enjoy daily walks with your pooch, pets are allowed.

No worries if your car isn’t compact, two full-size stalls are included in the price. Guest parking is also available.

Check out the home for yourself this Sunday at an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. Click here for details.

Money talk: $259,000 fee simple
