Developer’s home has custom touches

I happened to go to the Moana Pacific twin towers recently for open house, simply because there were so many happening in the complex. When I checked in at the west tower’s security, someone said, “Are you here to look at the penthouse? You gotta look at the penthouse, it’s really something.”

They weren’t kidding. The 48th-floor west tower penthouse (click here for details) belongs to the complex’s developer, yet has never been lived in. The first thing that catches your eye is the sparkling, modern chandelier in the dining room, which will draw your line of sight out to the panoramic view; then you’ll realize how open the entire floor plan is.

The 2,391-square-foot unit has a very clean, contemporary design with high-quality materials that are luxurious, but laid out in such a way that you feel comfortable. (In fashion, they call outfits that exude this style “casual smart.”)

The state-of-the-art kitchen features Sub-Zero Wolf appliance, spacious granite countertops, and custom wood cabinets with “soft close” hinges and drawers. You could opt to eat at the adjacent curved granite bar, or in the expansive living room just beyond that.

There are three bedrooms and three baths, but you’ll want to see the master bedroom, which has its own living/study/lounge area, much like a luxury hotel suite. The master bath includes a steam room and a Jacuzzi whirlpool tub.

All rooms have a panoramic view through floor-to-ceiling windows.

For you urban dwellers, one bonus is the parking—this unit comes with four tandem stalls. If you actually feel too cooped up in this penthouse, you can get some fresh air at the building’s tennis court, barbecue, pool, putting green driving range, exercise room or theater room.

Money talk: $3,280,000 fee simple
