Open house pick of the week: Waikiki

Back by popular demand, Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties (CBP) will host its third annual “Waikiki is Open” event this Sunday, June 26 from 2 to 5 p.m. It’s a special one-day event showcasing more than 50 CBP listings in Waikiki.

Waikiki is known as a tourist destination full of hotels, but many people call this world-famous destination home, as well. This is a good chance to get a look at the range of residences available, and get to know the area while you’re at it.

Most of the listings are in condos, like the Waipuna, pictured here. In an area where land seems scarce, few people know that this building has an enormous lagoon in addition to its pool, tennis court, barbecue area, and putting green.

If you are looking for luxury, check out Vicki Hossellman’s Castle Surf at 2937 Kalakaua Ave., the only Previews listing in this event.

Waikiki isn't all condos, either. Grace Yap’s 424 Olohana St. is a multi-family, single-family home.

Complimentary transportation will be provided to help homebuyers quickly and easily get from one open house to the next. A trolley displaying the Waikiki is Open banner will be making continuous loops around Waikiki. Pedicab service will also be running between the Sunset on the Beach area and the fountain on Kalakaua Ave. near the Elks Club.

People who visit three open houses during Waikiki is Open will receive a coupon from Jimmy Buffett’s at the Beachcomber for a burger and margarita or beer for just $12. They can also complete an entry form to win a two-night staycation at the Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki.

On event day, a complete list of participating listings, map and entry form will be available at www.cbpacific.com, Jimmy Buffett’s at the Beachcomber, on the Waikiki is Open trolley, pedicab, and at all CBP open houses. Parking at Jimmy Buffett’s at the Beachcomber is free with validation. For information on other places to park, click here.

Happy house hunting!
