A rare townhome in Mariner’s Valley

When I think of Hawaii Kai townhouses and condos, I mostly conjure images of waterfront communities or the high-rise buildings with commanding views overlooking the entire marina and out to the ocean. That may be because they are easier to see when I’m driving along Kalanianaole Highway making a Costco run.

Tucked midway to the back of Mariner’s Valley, Mariners Village 3 is spread over 28 acres. It’s few valleys over from Mariners Village 1 and 2, all of which were developed in the early 1970s.

Three-bedroom units at Mariners Village 3 don’t come on the market often, which is why I thought this one deserved a mention.

Listed last week, the 1,093-square-foot townhome features lush green views from the master bedroom lanai and its picture window. Click here for details.

Both of the bathrooms (one is a half bath) have been recently remodeled, along with interior paint throughout.

Though the bright kitchen is original, it offers the buyer a chance to add their own design. I particularly like how the sink overlooks the private yard – a good way to keep an eye on the kids playing while you’re getting dinner ready.

Two parking stalls are located under the unit’s carport, which has a gate that opens into the fenced yard.

Fuzz factor: Keep those tails wagging, pets are allowed.

Amenities include a swimming pool, a recreation area and a clubhouse. The maintenance fee, which includes sewer and water, is low at $457 a month.

Money talk: $470,000 fee simple
