Open House Pick Of The Week: Kakaako
After the announcement earlier this week that Kamehameha Schools is providing free, lightning-fast wi-fi on nine blocks across Kakaako, I thought I would check out what’s available nearby. I’m famous for mooching wi-fi off my neighbors, but the upload speed has been a little slow lately (hopefully they don’t read this blog).
The closest open house I could find for this Sunday is a new listing in Waterfront Tower, which is a good location if you also like all the other activities in the area, such as Eat the Street, Honolulu Night Market, Pow Wow and other hip street festivals.
The unit is on the 10th floor, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms in 1,470 square feet of living area. There’s a 155-square-foot lanai, and since this is a corner unit with views of the ocean, harbor, Aloha Tower, and downtown Honolulu, if you prefer to be above all the action instead of in it, you can just look out from there. I used to live in this building, so I can tell you that the lanais are nice and wide.
The unit is refurbished with new carpet and appliances. It also comes with two parking stalls, which is a premium in this area.
