Affordable condo in Mililani

Since I’m still fairly new to Oahu, my only familiarity with Mililani is the few times I’ve driven through it on my way to the North Shore. I’ve often wondered what types of homes and condos are just off the freeway.

So I was interested when this very affordable two-bedroom, one-bathroom condo at Valleyview Melemanu ($185,000 fee simple), which was listed last week, came across my desk. Click here for details.

While it may not have the attraction of living in town, if you work at Mililani Technology Park or Wheeler Army Airfield, this unit is worth a look. And if you do want to see a concert or go to a weekend event downtown, the drive is about 30 minutes.

Located on the fifth floor with a garden view, the turn-key condo has been tastefully renovated. The kitchen has attractive cabinetry, granite counters and stainless-steel appliances, along with an in-unit washer and dryer. A breakfast counter with two seats is perfect for dishing out the morning cereal or serving a quick, casual dinner.

The living room, lined with bamboo wooden flooring, opens onto a 97-square-foot lanai and has a dining area tucked into the corner.

The bathroom features a recessed vessel sink and the convenience of a walk-in glass shower.

Among the amenities, next to the pool is a covered cabana where families can host gatherings. Also on the grounds is a playground for the keiki.

There are also several neighborhood parks in the area, along with Mililani Golf Club just a five-minute drive away.

The price includes one covered stall; guest parking is available.

Money talk: $185,000 fee simple
