Open house pick of the week: Kakaako

If you like penthouse living and you like909 Kapiolani, there’s a good chance you’ll get one. There are eight on the market right now, all with the same owner.

I’m randomly showing you unit 3501 (click here for details), but units 3404 and 3601 will be open this Sunday, as well, and you can probably ask to see the others if you have time.

Unit 3501 has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with all of the luxury details you would expect from a penthouse. The view, of course, is incredible and offers a panorama of Honolulu through large glasswindows wrapping around the entire apartment, displaying mountains, city and ocean.

The 1,342-square-foot interior has well-kept tile and carpeting, granite countertops throughout and the kitchen features top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances and modern cabinetry. The unit comes with two parking stalls, which is also a bit of a luxury for condo dwellers.

Although you are allowed to drink cocktails in the pool area (which I can’t do in my own building), the manager is pretty strict, so you probably won’t find people getting out of line. The building is pet friendly, as well.

Here’s a bonus: Licious Dishes, Martha Cheng’s favorite vegan spot, is opening a restaurant on the first floor in the next couple of weeks.
