View as many as 80 meteors per hour when the Perseid meteor shower hits its peak this weekend. No telescope or binoculars necessary; just head to a remote spot, set up a lawn chair and start scanning the night sky.
When: Late Saturday into early Sunday and late Sunday into early Monday.
Details: According to Bishop Museum astronomy experts, meteors will likely originate in the eastern sky, where the constellation, Perseus, rises.

What:
Take a seat at Baja Style Food Truck's three-day pop-up restaurant and send your taste buds on a trip to Spain with a six-course tapas menu that includes tamales filled with corn truffle and smoked chicken, smoked ahi wrapped in a poblano chile and slow-baked goat (don't judge; it's pretty darn tasty). Wash it down with all-you-can-drink aguas frescas made with fresh fruit.

Trail Gazer
What:
If you're up for hiking six miles along the base of the Koolau, join Hawaiian Trail and Mountain Club members as they navigate their way between the Wilson and Pali tunnels. You'll be rewarded with lush scenery, old house sites and stunning views of Windward Oahu. Pack a lunch and enjoy it next to a lovely waterfall.
When and Where: Saturday. Meeting places - 8 a.m. mauka of Iolani Palace; 8:30 a.m. Burger King, 45-630 Kamehameha Hwy.; 9 a.m. Hoomaluhia Botanical Garden trailhead, 45-680 Luluku Rd.

Lei Chic Night at the Museums
What:
For the first time ever, Two Museums and a Royal Palace are teaming up for an exciting night of exhibits, live entertainment, food and more. Take advantage of free shuttles to view a Planetarium show at Bishop Museum, hop over to Honolulu Museum of Art for an outdoor film screening and living art gallery, then end the night with a first-ever second-floor evening tour of Iolani Palace and a visit to the Barracks beer garden.
When: Tomorrow, 5-10 p.m.
