Weekend Picks - February 23, 2012
What: We told you Kathy Masunaga's concoctions were blissful, now armed with a new name and almost fully operational truck her new business, Sweet Revenge, is making its debut at Eat the Streets with her flaky pies, decadent Bliss butters, and the s'mores with homemade chocolate marshmallows that we're still craving.
When: Tomorrow, 4 - 9 p.m.
Where: 805 Ala Moana Blvd.
Details: The theme this month is chocolate. On our scary-but-intriguing list are Chicago Eatz chocolate italian beef, Hawaii's Fried Musubi's chocolate-covered fried spam, and Local STOP's red velvet malasada cheesecake.
On a Wing and a Flare
What: The Queen of Belgium thought they were so beautiful she covered an entire palace ceiling with them. Now, local jewelry line Salty Girl has turned to the same unlikely materials to create a new, striking necklace and bracelet. The iridescent blue-green, feather-like pieces of Amber Chesboro's latest design are beetle wings that would normally be thrown out in countries such as Thailand.
Details: $115 for the necklace and $125 for the bracelet on Salty Girl's online shop.
