Message in a Doodle

Honolulu-based designer Mistprint sells cute greeting cards for every occasion

Face it—not everyone's good at art (just ask Shia LaBeouf), and despite what they say, it's not always the thought that counts. As much as you want to make a handmade birthday card for your best friend, she deserves better than a lopsided doodle (think Picasso but ... minus the genius). Don't worry, we're not judging you. We're here to help.

Mistee from Mistprint is the Donatello of doodlers. The stationery in her Etsy shop ranges from adorable to elegant, with tandem bicycles, beautifully colored betta fishes, cute potted succulents and classy arching Birds of Paradise. In fact, Mistee's got her sweet, scribbly style down to a fine art in every hand-drawn thank you, congratulations, or love-themed card.

Mistprint's personal pieces are the perfect way to paint a meaningful message into a momentous occasion. New addition to the family? Two elephants with their new baby march across a cheerful striped background in Mistee's congratulatory baby card. Big anniversary with your sweetie? Her cheeky illustration of two floating otters is accompanied by the words "we were meant for each otter." Or just writing to say hi? Her "Hello Cupcake" card, sporting—you guessed it—a cute-as-pie cupcake, sounds pretty picture-perfect.

And psssst! Mistee has a special discount for Lei Chic readers until the end of March. Use the code "LEICHICALOHA" in her Etsy shop for 15 percent off your purchase.

With a deal like this, is there any reason not to have a doodle-ful day?

We're drawing a blank.

$4 individual cards, $6 button sets. Visit Mistee's Etsy shop at for more, including card sets and prints.
