Hot Pursuit

Inflatable TV from www.openaircinema.us You’ve escaped the cubicle – for the afternoon at least. Here’s where to find a wifi spot fast – without all the “hot or not?” debate.

Start at www.jiwire.com, where you can call up a list of local wireless signals and hotspots, (many of them free), by inputting your zip code. There are more than 250 listed in Honolulu alone, making it easy to be at the right place at the right time.

If you’re an Oceanic Road Runner or Hawaiian Telcom customer, you can get online and email at the free wifi spots both companies have set up around town. That means when you’re cruising at places like Ward Centers, Ala Moana or Kailua Town you can check in simply with your existing RoadRunner or Hawaiian Telcom email and password.

Worried you’ll forget where it’s hot once you’re out? Attach the stealth Gold Lantern WiFinder to your key chain, a little box that detects wireless signals within 300 feet in about one second.
