Single Style

Lei Chic Lei: Hi, my name is Lei – and I’m a serial monotonous.

Group: Hi Lei.

Lei: I can’t wear my pink shoes without the matching belt. Breaking apart an outfit gives me separation anxiety.
But I hit frock bottom when I grabbed the wrong bag for a girls’ trip and had only (takes a ragged breath) a cardigan, a tunic, leggings, and a pair of sandals for the ENTIRE WEEKEND! (breaks down into uncontrollable sobs)

Group: (sympathetic murmuring)

Lei Chic Group Leader: The first step is admitting you have a problem. The second step is to kick the habit with Mikinola.

The new online boutique launches tomorrow with full collection of clothing, swimwear, and accessories mostly priced under $100. Amid slouchy Minkpink tops and sexy Florencia Arias dresses, you’ll find Hawaii exclusives such as Matiko’s leather cut-out wedges, colorful PilyQ swimsuits, and collab pieces with local designer Cassandra Rull.

Lei Chic Mikinola is not just about shopping. UH fashion grad Dara Fujio uses her styling experience to help you mix and even transform your clothes. Her online look book shows you a simple black cardigan reworked into a chic, backless blouse, a ruffled dress turned beach-worthy top, and new-to-Hawaii Ximena Valero wrap dresses tied up three different ways.

Lei: And if I suffer a style relapse?

Group Leader: E-mail Fujio anytime for assistance creating a new look - Because no one should ever fight monotony alone.

Mikinola’s website launches tomorrow with a party at 1585 Kapiolani Blvd., on the 7th floor above Shokudo Restaurant. Shop the entire collection and receive style tips from Fujio from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Check out the preview on Mikinola’s facebook page.
