Come to Mama

www.leichic.com As if it isn’t hard enough to find cute clothes when you’re pregnant. And then came recent news that Hot Mama Maternity, the hip little boutique in Kaimuki, was closing.

But breathe easy. A new owner has adopted the boutique. And she’s already looking ahead to bringing in new merchandise, lining up fun and informative in-store events, and making Hot Mama more kid-friendly and experienced-mom approved.

The shop has long been a place for expectant mothers to find clothes just like the ones they wore before baby, tailored to fit their growing bumps, like Earl Jeans with inconspicuous panels of lycra sewn in, flattering wrap-tie tops, and cute empire-waist dresses. All that will stay – you’ll still find lots of the same popular maternity lines such as Bella Materna and Ripe, as well as a custom collection of jewelry from local designer Catherine Weitzman that’s available only at Hot Mama.

In the future look for the boutique to carry more merchandise for every stage of motherhood: before, during and after pregnancy, as well as accessories, toys and gift items that will appeal to friends of the mom-to-be and baby’s older brothers and sisters too.

For now, though, the store is holding a one-week sale, starting today, to make room for some new merchandise. Nearly the entire store is marked down, with some clothing and accessories up to 70 percent off.

Your closet will welcome this new bundle of joy.
