Pretty On The Inside

www.leichic.com

There’s a reason you wear T-shirts with everything – your favorite ones make you feel cozier and more comfortable than anything else in your wardrobe.

But when’s the last time you put on a T-shirt that made you feel good on the inside?

The cute tops and T’s from new clothing line Maui Thing will.

Launched last August by a collective of graphic artists, every piece in the line carries an uplifting and positive message of peace, health, environmental awareness and local pride. A yellow smiley www.leichic.comface has a flower behind the ear, and there are stylized peace signs, buddhas, and surf- and hula-themed designs, all screen-printed on American Apparel. The newest designs feature images of native plants printed on 100 percent organic cotton Alternative Apparel tops.

Most pieces carry the Maui-shaped tako icon, a symbol for the company’s tagline, “Stuck on Good.” And, after only five months in business they’ve already started giving back to the community by sponsoring the local children’s wish-granting program A Keiki’s Dream.

Now that’s the true meaning of aloha wear.
