Hit the Spot

Lei Chic You may like it a little to left. Or you may like it a little to the right. Maybe at an angle or even completely turned around.

It’s hard to choose your favorite position. Which is why you’re always rearranging your furniture and trying to freshen up your place.

Local interior designer Sanford T. Hasegawa and his team at 87zero can help. Hasegawa’s 3,000 square-foot furniture showroom, which used to be a... Read more »

Here's the Skinny

Lei Chic If your life were a Real Housewives reality show, you know just which friend you'd cast as crazy-eyes Ramona, drama-queen Jill, social-climber Alex, fake-boobs Kelly and just-plain-fake LuAnn.

And as for self-promoting skinny girl Bethenny? Well, you hate to typecast, but you've always been the fittest of your friends. And you do love to cook Read more »

Eco Maniac

Lei Chic Traipsing from store to store searching for environmentally friendly clothes and accessories is, ironically, sort of like driving your clunker you didn't cash in. As in, a huge waste of energy.

Especially now that there's the new Chinatown boutique Super Citizen. Open only a few weeks, the whole shop is stocked with products that are sustainable, locally made and designed, and eco-friendly.

Heading straight out after work? Pick up a cool little American Apparel tank dress or comfy... Read more »

Love At First Bite

Lei Chic
You've been seeing a lot of new types—and enjoying all the lunches and dinners.

But juggling so many crushes—well maybe you've bitten off more than you can chew. That hip downtown dish left you full of regret. And then there was the gorgeous Italian that ended up being a total cheeseball.

The exception? The latest addition to the Hank’s Haute Dogs’ menu—delectable deep dish personal pan... Read more »

Rock Steady

www.leichic.comIt’s 7:55 a.m., you just woke up, and you’ve got a conference call at 8. You reach for the closet and quickly realize you forgot to hit the dry cleaners, so a pair of sweatpants and yesterday's rumpled suit is all you have clean. Then the morning takes a turn for the worst: a flashback to being dumped via Twitter last night.

Day starting out rocky? Roll with it and deck yourself out with some Modern Philosophy jewelry, designed with the karma-challenged in mind.

Inspired by Buddhist teachings, Maui-native Lisa Gouveia selects the semi-precious stones in her designs for their specific energies.

Lady and the Stamp
The faded hand stamp from last night is the key to remembering where you were for last call. The stamp-filled pages of your passport tell the tales of your worldly adventures. And the canceled stamp on the Mother's Day card you're mailing today lets mom know you didn't do it last minute.

Your stamp collection says a lot about where you've been and where you're going.

That's why a few pieces from the Maui-based Vega jewelry line are worth adding to your stash. Designer... Read more »
