The London Look

Lei Chic You gotta hand it to 'em. The Brits really know their stuff.

They've got High Tea, Downtown Abbey, and Jude Law (replace with R. Pattz, if you must).

Not to mention amazing style. And since Topshop and Topman just hit the floor at Nordstrom, getting a look from across the pond is now just a short drive away.

As always, we've got inside tips and looks, just for you.

The floor is divided into three distinct trends:

  • Sensationalist - edgy, spiky and shiny, think Kate Moss on the red carpet;
  • Pennsylvania - borrowed from the boys military mixed with sweet florals and lace, think Alexa Chung; and
  • Factory Girl - classic, clean lines, rich fabrics with a '60s twist, think Kate Middleton.

Each area offers apparel, shoes and accessories to build complete looks.

Keep an eye out for, or ask a salesperson about, special items not available in any other West Coast-area Nordstrom store, like the metallic jacquard shorts and embossed scuba skater dress (both featured below). We also found a pair of maroon après-ski-inspired ankle socks that weren't even available on Topshop's website. Bonus: many items are wrinkle-resistant and machine washable.

Lei Chic Be prepared to size up. While the store doesn't carry petite sizes (a handful are available online), the clothes still run a bit small. Certain styles are already flying out the door, but we're told the store gets new shipments in weekly.

Shop the Topshop and Topman launch party this Saturday and receive an exclusive nail polish and lip gloss or exclusive leather belt with purchases of $100 or more, while supplies last. You'll also get a sneak peek of Topshop's makeup line, arriving later this year.

And finally, Instagram your best Topshop or Topman outfit using the hashtag #britishstyle to @nordstrom and you could win the ultimate London weekend plus a Topshop/Topman shopping spree. Details here.

To get you started, we put together three fall London looks that are also perfectly posh here in Hawaii.
