Sunday brunch at Tango Market

Sunday brunch ends all too soon…I’ve seen brunch menus end at noon. That’s just called breakfast. Here’s a Sunday brunch for late-risers, with a menu outside of the pancakes and omelette routine: Tango Market, which offers brunch from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Biscuits and gravy ($9.50) here are cheddar and dill scones with a mushroom gravy sauce and smoked salmon, a lighter version of the original. Scandinavian-style waffles ($8.50) are thin and crisp and pleasantly dense inside. A toppings bar includes strawberry compote, chocolate chips, chocolate sauce and fresh whipped cream, which beckons all too enticingly. My dining companion loads onto his plate for a two-to-one whipped cream to waffle ratio. This is why we love self-serve bars.

For more substantial lunch-type options, you can get the shepherds pie. But you can also get this any day of the week at Tango Market; the Sunday brunch exclusive items, including the maple sausage waffle dog, is where all the fun’s at.
