Open house pick of the week: Palolo

Forget the Black Friday mania: This open house pick of the week already has multiple offers on it, and they expect to have more by the end of the weekend, so if you're hoping to get a good deal for the Christmas season, this is it.

"It's hard to find a nice-sized single-family home in town under $600,000," says realtor Dan Ihara of Prudential Advantage Realty. "This is a cute house with a nice-sized yard, so it's gotten a lot of interest."

The home is 54 years old and still has its original hardwood floors, but was recently updated with new paint inside and out and new copper plumbing. (Click here for details.)

The three-bedroom, 1.5 bathroom home is just 1,008 square feet, but there's room to grow on the 5,876-square-foot lot. "The yard has a slight slope, so if I owned it, I'd probably build a deck out front to level that out. That way you can sit outside and take in the Diamond Head and ocean view," Ihara says.

There's even a furo room, which is reflective of the older Japanese community that was originally the primary ethnic population in Palolo Valley.

You will also find a two-car garage and ample storage under the house, which is a plus.

Happy house hunting!
