New, custom home in older Kam Heights
When I was browsing through photos of new listings, I initially thought this one was either in a master-planned community in Kapolei or somewhere in Kaimuki/Kahala, based on the space and design. I was surprised to find that it’s in Kam Heights, just a couple blocks from Helena’s Hawaiian Food on School Street.
If you’re familiar with the neighborhood, you know that many of the streets, like this one, are older. They’re paved but uneven, and don’t have sidewalks. The mix of single-family homes, CPRs and sometimes apartment buildings are packed quite snugly into a single area—quite the epitome of urban density.
This property, as you can see, doesn’t quite fit the bill. The lot is 6,205 square feet, allowing a yard, lanai and parking area around the two-story, 2,014-square-foot house. (Click here for details.)
It’s just seven years old, with two full master bedrooms and bathrooms on the second floor. The third bedroom and bathroom is on the first floor. The layout is very open, with split air conditioning in all rooms, to make it comfortable. The double pane windows and privacy glass are also interesting features.
The home will be open tomorrow, March 14, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and Sunday, from 1 to 5 p.m. if you want to see it.
