Open House Pick of the Week: Kahala Towers
Convenient Kahala living that won’t break the bank.
If you want to live in a certain neighborhood or part of the island but can’t afford a larger, newer home, you might consider a condo — which often turns out to be a hidden gem.
This new listing is in Kahala Towers desirable "A" building, and in a prime spot because of its proximity to the elevators and the partial cover from the afternoon sun. You still get sweeping views from Diamond Head to Waialae Country Club as well as a steady cross breeze with tradewind weather, which is always a plus.
Kahala Towers was built in 1968, so it is an older building, but the original owners have extensively renovated this two-bedroom, two-bath unit by enclosing the entry and 144 sq.-ft. lanai, updating the bathrooms and remodeling the kitchen with new cabinets, counters and appliances. The unit is rarely occupied; it’s only used when one of the owners visits Hawaii, so it’s in great shape.
The 985 sq.-ft. unit includes one open, assigned parking stall.
Kahala Towers is one of only two high-rises in the entire Kahala and Waialae Nui Valley area, so residents can enjoy views of the Kahala coastline without the cluttered view plane of urban development (don’t get me started on that subject!). It’s known as a walkable community, so it’s also very convenient to shopping, dining, at the mall and at hip Kaimuki offerings.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to live in the Kahala area without paying Kahala prices,” says Prudential Advantage realtor Eathan Ozawa.
It will have its first open house this Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Ozawa recommends interested parties park off property and check with the on-duty security for any information. Click here for details.
Happy house hunting!
