Wino Takes All
What:
Lei Chic is giving away two tickets to YWine, a wine tasting benefit for YWCA of Oahu. You and a guest could spend a relaxing Friday evening enjoying eight types of wines, appetizers from Cafe Julia, live music, giveaways and more in YWCA Laniakea's picturesque courtyard. Wine experts, including Cafe Julia owner Emerson Ribao, will be on hand to discuss the wines, their origins and pairings.
When: Tomorrow, 5-7 p.m.
Where: YWCA Laniakea, 1040 Richards St.
Details: Entries will be accepted here until noon tomorrow. Tickets cost $30 for YWCA members, $40 for non-members. Visit ywcaoahu.org for more information.

Lei Chic Made in the Shades
What:
Oakley is celebrating its newly-relocated, 1,500 square-foot store in Ala Moana Center with a rare, in-store kamaaina sale. Flash your Hawaii ID to save 20 percent off all regular-priced apparel and accessories and an extra 10 percent off all sale items through Labor Day. Sadly, the discount does not apply to the brand's signature eyewear, although its popular Hawaii-exclusive line of T-shirts ($16 sale price, above), hats and bags is fair game. New to the store: an optical center that fills eyewear prescriptions on site.
When: Sale runs through Monday.
Where: Oakley Hawaii locations: Ala Moana Center, 2150 Kalakaua Ave., and Whalers Village on Maui.

Order... or Not?
Keep a Lid on It
What:
While pumpkin spice lattes aren't scheduled to return to Starbucks until next week, many stores - at least on the mainland - are reportedly serving the fall favorite right now if you utter the secret password (PSL 10). We immediately ran to our nearest Starbucks though, unfortunately, no one knew about the code or could serve us the drink. Neither could the Starbucks a few miles away. We suspect Hawaii isn't in on the secret, though if you find out otherwise, let us know via email, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

Wardrobe (and Other) Updates

  • Primo Popcorn just opened a store on the ground floor of Davies Pacific Center in downtown Honolulu, along with 15 new flavors, like mac nut pesto, chocolate haupia, even dried aku. A grand opening celebration is set for Tuesday. 841 Bishop St. #156.
  • Camera enthusiasts can buy, sell or trade equipment at PIX FIX!, a pop-up and swap meet at Fishcake that includes a film screening, guest speakers and photo exhibitions. Tonight, 6-9 p.m., 307C Kamani St.
  • You've probably already seen it, but we wouldn't feel right not linking you to 'NSYNC's way-too-short reunion performance at MTV's Video Music Awards. No Miley twerking here.
  • We're loving J.Crew's newest collaboration: WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie for J.Crew two-way totes. These super-versatile bags crafted out of organic Turkish cotton and sustainably produced leather go from chic clutches to roomy, pocket-filled carryalls in seconds. $298 and $398. [link]

Lei Chic Shop
Eye PAD
What:
PAD, Kakaako's newest home furnishings store owned by HGTV designer Lauren Makk, is holding a 20-percent grand opening sale this weekend. The showroom offers a limited selection of sleek IKEA storage units and accessories, though what we're most excited about are the fun DIY workshops, like how to make a geometric cardboard light fixture (left), in a casual, relaxed setting. A full schedule will be posted on the store's website tomorrow.
When: Sale runs through Sunday.
Where: 685 Auahi St., Suite D
Details: Visit www.padhawaii.com or call (808) 744-3814.

When: Saturday. Opening reception: 8-10 p.m. Party: 10 p.m.-2 a.m.
