Bye the Seastar
The bad news - Seastar 8.4.23 closes in five days (owner Nana Fujise says the Waikiki boutique was always meant to be a short-term pop-up experience). The good news - you still have four days to take advantage of its massive moving sale. You'll get 40 percent off all regular-priced merchandise, an additional 40 percent off sale items, and everything, including the fixtures, must go. Look for Seastar to reopen in Manhattan, where Fujise currently lives, but until then, the online shop will remain open for business.
When: Today-Saturday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m., Sunday noon-5 p.m., closed Monday, Tuesday 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
Where: 423 Nahua St.
Details: Look for even deeper discounts as the closing date nears. Check for updates on Seastar 8.4.23's Facebook page or blog or call (808) 922-8423.

Fry by Night
Morning Glass Coffee and Cafe's Night Breakfast is back next week and, for the second time, the Manoa eatery is opting for an à la carte, open seating format. Order from a special menu that includes macaroni and cheese pancakes, kim chee fried rice parfaits with pork gravy, a sandwich of pork, honey marmalade, baby arugula and fried egg on ciabatta bread - and don't forget your cereal milk latte.
When: Wednesday, 5:30-8:45 p.m.
Where: Morning Glass Coffee and Cafe, 2955 E. Manoa Rd.
Details: $8-15 per entree. No reservations necessary, first come, first served. Watch for the full menu on Facebook and call (808) 673-0065 for more information.

Lei Chic Read
'Lucky' in Love
We're so excited to see several of our favorite local boutiques and designers in the pages of Lucky! The February issue spotlights Aloha Rag, Barrio Vintage, Community, Collins & 8th, Guava Shop, Fighting Eel, Muumuu Heaven, Owens & Co., Olive Boutique, Somace and Rebecca Beach Kahala (whew!) in its City Guide feature.
Details: Look for Katharine McPhee on the cover when the issue hits newstands or click here to read the feature online.

The Sample Life
It's that time again. Head down early to Fighting Eel's sample sale to score ridiculously cute outfits at ridiculously low prices (and congratulate them on the Lucky feature). Just remember - cash only and all sales are final.
When: Today and tomorrow, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Where: 9 N. Pauahi St.
Details: For more information, email or call (808) 738-9300.

Mumbai's the Word
Escape to a world of music, humor and love at Honolulu Museum of Art's 6th Annual Bollywood Film Festival. We can't wait for the opening night film, English Vinglish, the story of an Indian housewife who enrolls in a conversational English class to help her navigate life in New York (spoiler: hijinks ensue).
When: Opens Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and runs through January 24.
Where: Doris Duke Theatre at Honolulu Museum of Art, 900 S. Beretania St.
Details: Opening night $15 ($12 for museum members), all other films $12 ($10 for museum members). Get the full schedule and buy tickets here.

Centers of Attention
Enjoy live music, food tents, art displays and more at Discover Kakaako. On our must-see list - a performance by Tufts University a cappella group sQ! in the parking lot fronting Consolidated Theatres, and a fashion show highlighting spring men's and women's looks on the Ward Warehouse stage, featuring the latest arrivals from Basique Threads (watch for Insight and Toi et Moi), Dolce (with Chan Luu and Gypsy 05) and Men's Wearhouse.
When: Saturday, 5-9 p.m. A cappella performance at 6:30 p.m., fashion show at 7 p.m.
Where: Ward Centers.
Details: You can also enter to win a Vegas vacation. Click here for full details.

Good Riddance
Donate five or more gently-used children's or adult books at Eden in Love and get 20 percent off your entire purchase at the boutique. All donations will be given to Friends of the Library of Hawaii (which is holding a sale January 19-21) to support the state library system.
When: Through tomorrow.
Where: Eden in Love, Ward Warehouse.
