What: Two delectable pop-ups take place this weekend. First, The Pig and the Lady returns with another dinner and movie offering, this time inspired by Mother's Day and Chocolat. The 7-course menu includes escargot bourguignon with charred cippolini and dark chocolate, and ham crisps with burgundy wine, shiso and bittersweet chocolate. The second is a 3-course Mother's Day brunch by Top Chef alum Lee Anne Wong and her mom featuring both an adult and keiki menu and special gift.
When and Where:
- The Pig and the Lady - Saturday and Sunday at 7 p.m., R&D, 691 Auahi St. $79 per person, menu and tickets here.
- Lee Anne Wong - Sunday, seatings at 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 1:30 p.m., Taste, 667 Auahi St., $35 keiki, $62 adults, menu and tickets here.

Gaze of Our Lives
What: If you haven't already heard, Hawaii will be the only state to see today's partial solar eclipse - at its peak, the moon will block more than a third of the sun. The Hawaiian Astronomical Society will be at Bishop Museum with telescopes and solar viewing filters, and special programs will run in the planetarium (all free with admission), though, sadly, the museum shop has completely sold out of individual safe solar filters. Chaminade University and University of Hawaii's Institute for Astronomy are also offering public viewings. Click here to learn how you can view the eclipse without risking permanent eye damage.
When: Today from 2:23-5:04 p.m. with the peak at 3:48 p.m.
What: Watch The Green perform never-before-heard music off its upcoming album, slated for release later this summer. The band kicks off its Take Me On tour with a concert in Honolulu before heading off to the mainland.
When: Saturday, May 18 at 7 p.m.
Where: The Republik, 1349 Kapiolani Blvd., #30.
Details: $20 advance, $25 door. Tickets available here.
What: Special events are happening at both Fighting Eel locations in time for Mother's Day.
