Love Potion No. 1

Indi Ocean launches ocean-inspired fragrance line

Indi Ocean Perfume Oils

Some people live by the mantra, "Stick with what you know."

Lucky for us, Indi Ocean's Mia Bella Belluche is not one of those people. Next week, the Kailua jewelry designer launches her very first perfume oil and - spoiler alert! - it smells amazing.

The backstory: Belluche has been collecting bottles and oils for years, but could never do anything with them. (Apparently, school and a wildy popular beach-inspired jewelry line keeps a person crazy busy. Whatever.) So, after graduating from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in May, she dove right in.

Belluche's debut scent, Indian Ocean, is much like her jewelry: elegant and clean with a touch of the exotic, a refreshing blend of white tea and spicy ginger crafted in small batches with organic fractionated coconut oil. If the aroma doesn't evoke a sense of wanderlust, the bottle certainly will thanks to a stunning backdrop of the Indian Ocean peeking through its glassy interior.

It's also small enough to throw in your purse and comes with a fuss-free, roll-on applicator that's perfect for any girl on the go.

All the more reason to love this new potion from the Ocean.

$82 for 0.5 fl. oz. (15 mL) bottle, available starting next Tuesday, October 1, at all Fighting Eel boutiques on Oahu and Halelea Gallery on Kauai. For more information, visit, and enter to win your very own Indi Ocean perfume oil on Instagram (details here). Photos: Mia Belluche.
